Our trip to the east coast has been booked! Besides being a little terrified about all the travel with Henry, we are so excited. We will be hitting the Berkshires in MA to photograph a wedding, then chilling at our friends' rad cabin in Woodstock for a few nights before hitting the city.

I would love to know what your favorite baby friendly activities in New York City are! Where to eat and what to do? We are staying in Brooklyn.

I, for one, can't wait to see the high line. It was under construction last time we where there (when the above photo was taken). And as a student of architecture/design/planning, it is something I totally dork out on.

The East coast is amazing in summer. We are going to Cape Cod in July. Lynch and I have gone to the Woodstock film film festival a few times and really enjoyed the friendly little town. It is one of those vacation places that makes me want to move there.

  3. It will be perfect time for the High Line.
in what part of Brooklyn will you be staying?
Must go to the new carousel in DUMBO… and Dumbo in general is great!
Prospect park and Central Park zoos are nice too and very kids friendly.
The childrens museum of art ispretty cool too and kids have lots of fun, is in tribeca and not far from Moomah, a cafe.play space oriented for kids.

and can't leave without Coney Island.

    Have fun.
I live in Brooklyn i(park Slope) if you need any help

  4. don't sweat the travel momma :) if you are nursing then little boy will cuddle up, eat and be whisked off to sleep by the white noise of the plane engines. i think we flew 6 or 7 times before our little girl was 2 just to cash in on her free flying status.

as for nyc, i'd have to chime in that central park is a go to option :) good luck.

  6. I'm new to your blog and loving it - Henry is insanely cute!! I'm a NYC Mom and I'd have to echo PicklePetunia's suggestions - the carousel in DUMBO is awesome and Central Park is always nice to wander through. If Henry is into animals, the Cent Park Zoo is great - it's small enough that you can see it all in an hour or so, but there's also a Children's Zoo where kids can pet and feed the animals, which is cute. We also had a great time at the Children's Museum of Art - tons of messy fun! You'll have a blast, enjoy!

  7. I recently became a new mom so I haven't yet experienced NYC with a kiddo in tow, but I as a compatriot in the design world (landscape architect/urban planner/designer) I definitely suggest the new Brooklyn Bridge Park http://www.brooklynbridgepark.org/. The carousel is beautiful but I am taken with the views from the park and the kids playground on Pier 6. The Highline is, of course, effing fantastic.
