Me: are you going to wear a suit to my graduation?*

Ben Left: I don't know.** I will wear a suit to the John Prine show.

Me: You will?

Ben Left: Yeah. He always wears a suit, so, I should too.

I should note, Ben considered very serious for a long time wearing a tie like the one John Prine has on above at our wedding. But in the end he didn't. But look, he doesn't always wear suits, John Prine likes cowboy boots too:

Me: [changing the topic to the show the next night] Should I wear jeans or a dress to Calexico?

Ben: Jeans.

Me: But what would Joey Burns like?

Ben: [rolls his eyes and walks away]

*You think I exaggerate when I say graduation is all I think about?
**Ben is not a man you can "dress" or a husband you can "make over" as the knots new magazine "the nest" suggests one does with a husband. He is going to wear exactly what he pleases, thank you very much.

Good thing he has such good taste.

What can I say. Other than I swear am not part of some secret plot to get brides everywhere to wear mini white dresses on their wedding day.  Especially vintage ones

Speaking of road trips. I never even showed you polaroids from the last one. The drive out was super pretty. I didn't capture it well, but we were always just ahead or behind a storm, making for lots of pretty light.

Bisbee, Shady Dell, why are you so cute? why do you have so so many antique stores?

Ben's brother works at Club Congress. We thought about getting married here for like a second. It would have been rad.

Tomorrow we leave for a mini road trip to visit some of the family. My momma lives at the very edge of a small town outside of las vegas in the middle of the desert. No exaggeration, see?

I took this a few years ago.  It is looking out from across the street she lives on.  See how happy her dogs are?

Technically that one on the right used to be my dog.  But she has been my little sister's dog for at least a decade now.

We are using this as an excuse to visit death valley, reeeeeally hoping to see some wild flowers.

we also have a special layover planned in amargosa, which i plan to tell you all about.  a possibly *very cool* wedding venue....

because it will affect my blogging habits you should know.  we leave for our trip tomorrow. we come back monday. monday evening, my quarter starts. MY LAST QUARTER. I am simultaneously giddy and terrified.

We'll see how that goes.

To set the record straight, I jumped to conclusions, and esb *does* like cowboy boats. I mean come one, patti smith is like her style guru, so, yeah.

"Um, cowboy boots?" She asked with an assumed scoff.

"Um. *yeah*" I answered.  Defiantly.

I have spoke of my obsession over boots.  Largely due to the motorcycle riding.  That and all the t shirt wearing I *have* to have cute shoes.  I don't know what I would do without my cowboy boots.  They are always there for me.  With a vintage sundress or jeans tucked neatly inside.  They are so good to me.  Anyone else like to rock cowboy boots not in texas?
