With full awareness that I sound like a terrible broken record, San Diego is lacking in the summer department thus far this year. At least beach-wise. And, as usual, I am longing for more water and swimming in my life. Specifically, I'd love to spend a long weekend planted with my family at a lake. If you know of one worth swimming in, and drinking margaritas by, oh, say within a 5 hour radius of San Diego, do tell. Lake photos from my "lake" board.

I have yet to sort through our (digital) photos from our trip to the Berkshires & New York, but I just got this roll developed and thought I would share a few. I borrowed a cool old film point and shoot from Michelle that I kind of love! The top photo is of Henry & the super awesome Abby, whose wedding we photographed at an AMAZING guesthouse that happens to be a Bauhaus-ish midcentury estate filled with original art and furniture, ON a nature preserve in the Berkshires! The second photo is of the guest house folly on the same property. The last few photos are from our little boat ride up the river, to get from Williamsburg down to DUMBO. Henry was pretty mindblown!

When you jump into a pool of water (not dive, where your hands are required, but like a good old cannon ball) do you plug your nose?

I do. Not because I never learned how to blow air out my nose. I did, and can. I just sort of like to plug my nose. It is habit. But every single time I do, Ben (who is a very experienced waterman type) goes into a fit of giggles.

Am I the only water loving adult who does this?

We met Miss Lucca Valentine and her Mama at the park the other day, and the babes were accidental twinsies. Redic, no?

Unfortunately, Henry Sparrow is going to have to learn how to share with the ladies. He was not happy with her trying to steal his beloved bread.

How cute are these two? Her little scarf. Stop it.

My friends. Happy First Day Of Summer. We get on a plane tomorrow for the East Coast, where I am pretty sure they have never even heard the phrase June Gloom. And when we fly home? It will be July. Yes.

Trip to Sayulita, part iii. In which Aimee and I tromp around town pretending like we are the Sartorialists, find mini Manrays, visit with baby wearing babes, have summer rain fun, and conclude our trip with a horsback ride (aimee and jamie) and making local friends (henry) and cleaning the streets of sayu (henry.)

It was so awesome traveling with Dorian and Aimee. Henry had so many loving hands to play with him and keep him safe. I think he really enjoyed it! We are already plotting on how we can make this little trip a bi annual vacation. Totally reasonable, right?

Trip to Sayulita, part ii. More beach. More baby. More Casa Ninamu

Everything we ate in Sayulita was excellent, but the best meal we had (hands down) was the one cooked for us in house by the Teitiare Estates staff. What? Yes. More on that thursday.
