I've always wanted to be the kind of nut who carries around a glass jar of water, but just couldn't do it. But then a few things happened at once. Ben and I both happened to lose our water bottles, we heard this charming story, and we picked out some glass bottles to try out for the baby. Suddenly in the market for new water bottles, I realized there must also be an adult version? Voila! Check out these cuties (which we picked up at Whole Foods) in a silicone sleeve! I am in love.

  1. these are fantastic! if you ever need an extra liquid container mason jars are magical for bringing juice/water/sangria to the park.

  3. I read that article, too! I've been slowly trying to replace all plastic containers in our house with glass and/or metal, and that's made me want to just go out and do it all now (budget? what budget?). Those water bottles might have to be the next thing on my list.

  4. @k yes, but i am always afraid of dropping! :S

@olivia they def add more weight to my bag than a plastic or sigg, but i find it to be tolerable.

@kristy i know. :( we still have so much plastic tupperwear. even if it is "BPA free." i figure though with liquids it is esp important?

  5. Thanks for sharing this. It's so hard to completely rid yourself of BPA and other nasty compounds/chemicals. I was sad to find out that even mason jars have BPA in their lids (not to mention that the non-BPA replacement lids are still made of plastic). At first glance, these bottles seem like a great alternative.

  6. those are awesome! my mom is and always has been an anti-plastic nut, so i grew up in a plastic free home. i am not as intense (i use tupperware from time to time), but i never use plastic to store liquids and i never put it in the microwave. we got some glass food containers for our wedding from crate and barrel and i really love them...

  7. Totally contemplated these at the container store a while ago! I wish they weren't so heavy, but you're right, plastic ones are icky.
