Guys I am desperate for a little leather zipper pouch. My wallet is a rather large hobo, and I need something that I can slide into that, then pull out when the baby and I are on the go. Just something big enough for my ID & bank card, and maybe a couple of bills. Maybe 4x3? But all my favorites, such as the tracey tanner (top) and the rennes handmade (bottom) are too big. What gives? Maybe it is too hard to work with leather that small? Maybe I should embrace my inner 13 year old and get a little Guatemalan pouch... But really I want leather. Any leads?

  1. i think that the zipper would take up too much room on a 4 inch pouch. the opening would end up being 3 inches or so, which might make it hard to fish stuff out. the smallest i've seen is the rennes.

you could look at india ink on university. they have some small leather goods. a little pricey, but they may have what you need.

  3. I've seen pouches like this at JCrew before. Couldn't find any online, but they normally have them near the wallets in the store.

  4. My hobo wallet is enormous as well and while I love it, I struggle with it sometimes. My current solution is just to have a small clutch that I transfer cards to when I don't want to carry a purse. I haven't seen any leather pouches that small, but the ubiquitous J. Crew foldover wallet might work pretty well for you.

  5. Oh! Now I want this one. It says it measures 6x5 but folds in half, so I'm thinking the folded size would be 3x5. Pretty handy. They also have it in black, but clearly I would go for the gold. Maybe she could make one in a brown leather for you?

  6. I have a Marc Jacobs leather one (4x3) that I've used for years for exactly what you mention (cards, ID, cash) I hate carrying anything extra, on top of all that we need with traveling babes & I don't like purses so it's been a great alternative.

Check online, they might still stock them.

  9. Check out Makr Carry Goods! They have a ton of options in that size range- not "pouches" per say- no zippera in that size- but quality leather in a variety of colors. I love my pieces from them.

  11. DUDE! Madewell. Little zipper pouch just a bit larger than a credit card. I have one and Will has one because he liked mine so much he made me buy him one. It's the best. All I can find is the patent leather one online, which isn't as cute, but is the perfect size. or croc.

An old Canadian stalwart (well, not an old company, but one that I've bought numerous products from) that has served that exact purpose. Me and my crew have bought dozens of them over the years, and they all look better with age. And even a spill of salad dressing or two ... (in the larger bags)

  13. Apparently anonymous and I shop at M0851.

GO! Also, NY and Canadian stores always have a sale bin, and Montreal has killer sample sales...le sigh.

  14. I make little leather pouches to ship to a store in Marfa, like the bag at the bottom of this post:http://leatheryandthings.blogspot.com/2011/10/fall.html

and have a couple on Etsy...(Leathery)...if you tell me colors and size, I can make just what you want with a fun upcycled printed scarf lining!

I was just about to say, you should get the little fold over one from Annilly Green. As I received mine today and I am already totally in love!
But I see you've already spotted it.
