I stopped getting excited about stripes a little while ago. You know, when my eyes were bleeding from seeing them everywhere. I still love them, they are classic, but it takes something special for me to get excited. You know?
I stopped into American Apparel the other day* and spotted this pullover. It is magical. It has a thick utilitarian knit, it fits just how I want everything to fit these days (loose in the mid region, covering the unsightly waist, but snug and tailored low around the hips.) I highly recommend. At 40 bucks, not a rip off.
*I have been doing *really* well at not buying, though no final resolve has been made. I had received a gift card for my birthday.
Update; Kate does this shirt way more justice than the AA shots.
you know what sucks? i am too short for american apparel clothes. really, i am. everything ends up looking sloppy on me. it's so sad.
ReplyDeleteI saw a French family at the Stanford Shopping Center. All four of them decked out like this. That was a little much, your above is perfect.
ReplyDeletecurrently wearing mine right this minute! it's very unlike all other american appareal clothing.
ReplyDeletefunny i totally think i saw this same striped shirt on a mannequin outside the american apparel on my walk home today. they change up the display every day so i'm always noticing new outfits. they even paired it with colored leggings like the pic above! it made me think of you and peonies.
ReplyDeletewhat a great find! i have been searching for some stripes to add to my otherwise solid clothing scheme. thanks for the heads up!
ReplyDeletelove this! but then again, i love all horizontal stripes! i'll be wearing them, still, after everyone else in the world stops. thanks for sharing!
