Ben's old music tee collection. You see why I had to marry him? He says anyone who knows Soul Side gets points in his book/is dating themselves.

PS that bottom Hank Williams Jr shirt is the same one Elliot Smith is wearing on Either/Or. I guess one day Ben went to see Smith at The World Beat Center. The venue is tiny, and it was back in the day. Ben walked in (having never heard of Smith before) and they both had the shirt on. Funny.

  4. Haha! Soul Side! I totally remember them! Funny to see them pop up here.

Also, I was at that Elliot Smith/World Beat Center show. And at the time I had no idea who he was either. Small world.

  6. OMG, Beggar's? Please tell me that Ben actually got that shirt from Beggar's and not at a thrift store. I went to Michigan State in East Lansing and frequented Beggar's half off wine Wednesday many times. Such fond memories.

  7. i guess that bocephus shirt was uh, highly produced?

ms bunny; rad! somewhere in between, actually. there was a rad old hippie woman i never met that ben had befriended years ago. when she decided to move back to east lansing from san diego ben helped her with the move, drove her out there. she gave him the shirt and told him all about the place.

i used to wear the shirt to work years ago (when i worked at a place where you could wear such things) and it totally bowled my boss over. an old hippie (okay, not really, just a really fucking rad older-jewish-super-liberal-used-to-be kind-of-a-hippie-like-most-his-generation-guy) from michigan who also when to michigan state. that was *the hang out* i guess. ;)
